Stand up and be counted!! Important Census Information
When you do the math, it's easy to see what an accurate count of residents can do for your community. Better infrastructure. More services. A brighter tomorrow for everyone. In fact, the information the census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like: Hospitals, Job training centers, Schools, Senior centers, Bridges, and other-public works projects, Emergency services, and can also help determine the number of seats representing Indiana in the House of Representatives.

Important News from your School Nurses:
The following changes will be required for the 2010-2011 school year: All students entering 6th –12th grades will be required to have 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or history of disease. Parental history of chickenpox disease is acceptable proof of immunity. A signed written statement from the parent/guardian indicating month and year of disease is sufficient. They will also need 1 dose of tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap) given on or after 10 years of age and 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4). In an effort to make sure that your child is in compliance with the new immunization requirements before the start of the next school year, please schedule them for an appointment soon.

North Side's 5th grade shows "Caring"
At North Side this month our Character Counts focus is "Caring". To actively involve the students, the 5th grade adopted 2 families to assist through the holidays. Grocery gift certificates were purchased along with toys and warm and cuddly clothes for the winter months. Student representatives shopped intently for the perfect outfits, toys and home essentials for the families. All students will participate in a wrapping party to conclude this outreach activity. The focus of giving and "caring" truly shined as the students worked to help those in need. To view more pictures, please click here.
